If the line was LSU -3.5, that means LSU is a 3.5 point favorite. If LSU wins by 4, they cover the spread. Win by 3 or less or lose, they don't cover the spread. + is for underdogs.

LSU has to win by 9 or more points for me to win the bet. the line is 8.5 if they win for less than that I lose the bet, or if they lose.
