College Gameday Thread 10/24

You are really saying the Big Ten sucks because OSU laid an egg some bowls? The only bowl game I can even recall them coming to play was the 2002 National Championship.

I'm saying the SEC has consistently been the best conference in football over a very long stretch of time. Please take a look at cumulative SEC bowl records, championship records, track record in the NFL, and award winners.

I'd also bet that SEC players commit more penalties, and cost more teams more timeouts than any other in the NFL. And that is just from Jamarcus Russell alone!

Speaking of the Pac-10, Stanford is absolutely rolling ASU right now at the half, 24-0.

Gamblers in Vegas are halfway home to their next mortgage payment, as the smart money was on "the furd" in Palo Alto.

And almost on cue, ASU wakes up. Erickson must have found his playbook in the visitor's locker room. Stanford's had a terrible time closing the door, so this isn't done yet.

So Arkansas is 3-4 and gives Florida a great game shows how good the SEC is. But, a 4-3 Michigan State game giving Iowa all they could handle means the Big ten sucks?

Arkansas would beat the living crap out of that slow sluggish Iowa team.

I will respect the Big 10 as soon as they win a Rose Bowl.

I would respect the SEC much more if they went north to play a game or two.

Arkansas is has beaten no one to show how good they might be. I am not saying one is better than the other, just that the SEC is not head and shoulders above the Big Ten like how they think to be.

Alabama used to play Penn State (and will be playing a home and home with them)

Alabama has a home and home vs. Notre Dame and Michigan State in the near future.

vols and LSU have played Notre Dame in non-conference play recently.

Kentucky has played Indiana in the regular season recent.

And yeah, I'm sure there is more, just can't remember every SEC schedule of recent memory off the top of my head at the moment.

Most SEC out of conference games from BCS conferences are from the ACC, so I can see why you might think the conference is trying to get the easy way out

dumbest thing you have ever posted. I think the Pac 10 is head and shoulders better than the Big 10 this year. Oregon and USC would beat any team in that conference by 20+ on a neutral field.

When talking about a conference being better than another, you cannot simply take the top two teams. You have to look at the whole conference. Arizona lost to Iowa. Granted Iowa is currently Big Ten number 1, but that was the only matchup this year. USC does have the Big Ten's number in recent history, that is given, but top-to-bottom it is not head and shoulders above them.

However, when the top team from one conference absolutely destroys a top team from another conference, it doesn't bode too well for the conference who keeps on getting blown out. Just saying......
