Getting a tax write off for donating your cards to non-profits

I have lots of cards that I probably will not very sell. I am thinking about donating them to a children's hospital or Goodwill and just get a tax write off? Does anyone have any other suggestions of comments.

I"ve donated to local middle schools. They used 800 count boxes as presents for kids who are sports fans who might not be getting much for Christmas.

Either schools or Goodwill or other non-profits are great causes, especially this time of year!
