Did old rockytop fans cost the vols a top recruit?

Curious article... I can see it making a difference, but I imagine in recruiting it is more likely coaching instability (eg with Willingham possibly being fired in washington) affecting kids commitments...

Fans booing their own team will cost them a recruit every now and then. But I doubt it's a widespread problem.

Supposedly, Jason Campbell was thought to be headed to Georgia back in '99, but the fans booing while he was on a visit turned him off.

I think the play on the field had more to do with it.
