I've never really held much stock in what Beckett says a card is worth, but I've always used it to kinda gauge what a card might be worth in comparison to other cards. Today I was just checking out the values of a few different cards that I was looking at on eBay and I remembered that I had been meaning to post this for a while now. Quite some time ago I acquired a Roger Staubach single color GU card in a trade deal. To me, this is just another card. I'm wondering though, why do y'all think this thing is valued at $80? There are 10 different variations of this card, all numbered /25, and all carrying a value of $80. Is this a set that a lot of collectors really tried to complete? Could I be holding the key to someone's complete set? I really have no idea, but that is the only reason to explain it.

Here's a scan of my $80 (according to Beckett) single color Roger Staubach GU.

I'm looking for input again. I'm planning on finally going for some Mets next week. What should I get them to sign, a custom 8x10 or buy a 50th anniversary Mets baseball? The 8x10 would be like this except with a 50th anniversary logo on the bottom right.

The baseball should cost 15-20 bucks but I would be willing to get it since it's a commemorative ball.

Here are the links, below, to each corresponding sport. Now you'll be able to talk about the sports you like, and how those sports are related to the hobby, all in the same place.
My name is Adam and I am an avid Yankee, Giant and Syracuse fan. I collect the items I built into my signature already but if it is Yankee or Giants give me a holla.
I am 36 and live in Yorktown VA. I have been collecting cards as long as I can remember. I use to be a moderator on a different site but that got to be alot of work. (Much props to the mods who handle all the good and bad). I was looking around for a new site to join and see what is out there as I am a member on one other.
Umm.. Can't think of anything else right now.
thanks for having me.
I presently have all my cards by set but I am trying to devise a plan to list my cards on my webpage for a tradelist. Trying to figure out what ways to do it.
List by player?
What do you prefer when looking through a tradelist?
How do you store and catalog your collection?

I have a few questions or looking for suggestions.

First off, I am working on a few projects

a. the Ultimate Hockey card Catalog (one card for every set ever made, (euro, main, insert, parallel, minor promo)

Presently storing these by year for 1990 to present, decade for the periods before.

b. Colorado Avalanche Catalog

Presently Storing by year

c. Boston Bruins Catalog

Just in a box.

Now the questions/suggestions

Thinking about changing the way I store the Avs and Bruins cards by player? Possibly in binders, boxes.

Does anyone use a program, dbase, excel to catalog their collection? If so what?

Any suggestions or comments?

This started out as a easy going project to see if I could get one card for every hockey card set, insert, parallel, minor and European set made. I have been compiling a listing Ultimate Hockey Card Catalog. I am using cards from my other projects to fill in the blanks. The cards bolded in blue I presently have on hand but I am still working the finishing up the list.

There are over 15,000 sets, subsets in the listing. If you see anything on these listing that I may need please do not hesitate to offer. I have over 80,000 cards available for trade. Grade of the card is not problem if you have some older cards that I need.

On Hand: 2564 and counting.

Thanks for looking and comments are always welcomed

Hello to all fellow collectors, my name is Mark and I am originally from Rhode Island. After serving in the US Army for 22 years I am now a Department of the Army civilian working on Fort Carson Colorado, living in Colorado Springs. Growing up I followed the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, Nordiques and Celtics. Been a fan of these teams since my early years and since there move to Denver in 1995 I am a Avalanche fan. Still follow the Pats, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics. I am a member of many collecting boards and frequent them when time permits. I have been trading and buying cards since 1974 and have over 60,000 cards available for trade or sale. One of these days I will completely catalog them. I have been on eBay for many years and have a feedback rating of 2133/100%. When I trade I always package the cards in a penny sleeve, top loader and team bag, (size permitting). I also ship in a bubble envelope. I consider myself a honorable trader and someone who can be counted on to complete any trade.

My player collecting interest

Hockey:
